Decking Material
Decking can come in a wide variety of materials giving you the choice of different natural colours and designs. We have sourced readily available timber sections to keep your costs down. If you have a design in mind and the available sections do not achieve this then the timber can be machined to suit your style.
Softwood and Scandanavian Pine decking
Scandinavian pine decking offers a more price conscious option. Typically knotty, it is an ideal decking product if you fancy staining or colouring your deck. Or you can leave your deck unstained and over time it will naturally weather to a silvery grey colour. All the softwoods are pressure treated with the industry recognised standards of CCP and ACQ. This enhances their durability and wear resistance to the outdoor elements with a guaranteed lifespan of up to 30 years, provided you decking is properly maintained.
Hardwood Decking, Yellow Balau
Yellow Balau (pronounced Bal-Ow) – Barbata – is a very durable Malaysian hardwood decking material that does not require treatment. It is a hard, heavy and strong timber that is well suited to decking construction. Yellow Balau has an interlocking grain and a fine and even texture. Its colour varies between yellowish-brown, brown and pale reddish-brown. Occasional pinhole is acceptable within the grading rules of this species.
Hardwood, Tatajuba Decking
Tatajuba – Bagassa guianensis – is a naturally durable South American hardwood decking material. It is a hard and heavy timber with strength comparable to that of European Oak. Tatajuba is pale yellow becoming an attractive golden chestnut colour as a result of sunlight. Tatajuba has very low volumetric shrinkage and is therefore very stable.
